What an independent inspection covers 

A third-party inspector stands between the manufacturer and the buyer. The typical checkpoints on fittings and flanges:

Dimensional & visual inspection

The inspector checks critical dimensions, wall thickness and end preparation against the applicable standard and the order drawing, and examines surfaces for visible defects before anything is accepted.
